Dental examination and cleaning
During the dental examination, the dentist carefully inspects not only the teeth but also gums, tongue, cheeks and palate to detect any abnormalities such as cavities, gum diseases, oral lesions, and pathologies such as cancer, among others. Radiographs, taken as a complement, help detect dental problems and anomalies that are not visible to the naked eye. The dental hygienist, on the other hand, performs scaling and polishing.
Scealant
The dental sealant serves to protect the tooth against tooth decay. Applied to teeth with deep grooves, especially molars, the sealant prevents the accumulation of food debris at the bottom of the grooves and facilitates maintenance and cleaning of the tooth.
Filling
Dental filling is used to strengthen a tooth damaged by decay or trauma to maintain its function and also to restore its appearance. Several types of treatments exist for tooth restoration.
Filling aims to restore a fractured, cracked, or decayed tooth using composite resin (white filling) or amalgam (silver filling). The filling is intended to fill the space after the removal of decay, rebuild the fractured tooth or strengthen the cracked tooth.
On the other hand, ceramic inlay is used for larger restorations and has the advantage of being stronger and more durable than composite restoration.
Crown and bridge
A dental crown is used to restore and strengthen a tooth whose dental structure is severely damaged due to decay, fracture, crack, significant wear, or if the tooth has undergone root canal treatment. Crowns are made of various materials such as porcelain, ceramic, metal, or a combination of those. Crowns cover the tooth to preserve its structure and prolong its lifespan. Crowns can also be used for aesthetic purposes.
On the other hand, a dental bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth to restore the aesthetics as well as the oral function of the patient and prevent the movement of adjacent teeth.
Occlusal splint
An occlusal splint is a custom-made device that helps protect your teeth from wear and contributes to preventing jaw pain caused mainly by clenching and grinding of teeth.
